Some references, very vague by the way, can be found scattered in the works belonging to the first period of prehistoric studies, they refer to the general somatic characteristics of the skulls found in different sites. Metric studies have not been carried out to date. The fundamental causes of this neglect by the physical anthropology of the aborigines of our province lie in: a) Absence of intensive explorations in the field; b) Absence of cemeteries, which could have provided a good number of measurable subjects. The common burial practice is the isolated individual burial. We are still engaged in the task of collecting as many usable remains as possible. We have resorted to private collections, to the incipient anthropological collection of the Institute of Archaeology of the University, to the existing ones in the Museums of Buenos Aires and to the one obtained personally in diverse occasions. No existe hasta el momento actual ningún estudio sistemático de los restos óseos de los habitantes protohistóricos de Córdoba. Algunas referencias, muy vagas por cierto, se pueden encontrar .dispersas en los trabajos pertenecientes a la primera época de los estudios prehistóricos, ellas se refieren a las características somáticas generales de los cráneos hallados en diversos yacimientos. Estudios métricos no se han realizado hasta el presente. Las causas fundamentales de este olvido por la antropología física de los aborígenes de nuestra provincia residen: a) Ausencia de exploraciones intensivas sobre el terreno; b) Ausencia de cementerios, que pudieran haber suministrado buen número de sujetos medibles. La práctica inhumatoria corriente es la sepultura individual aislada. Estamos aún empeñados en la tarea de reunir la mayor cantidad de restos utilizables. Hemos acudido a las colecciones particulares, a la incipiente colección antropológica del Instituto de Arqueología de la Universidad, a las existentes en los Museos de Buenos Aires y a la obtenida personalmente en ocasiones diversas.
