Fluorescence microscopy on a 2D photonic crystal transparent in the visible

We report on dye fluorescence enhancement (10-fold) with high spatial confinement (100nm-deep, lμm-wide) on a photonic crystal (PhC) through resonant excitation of photonic modes.
