Sumario:On the basis of a rich collection from western and northwestern Argentina, Eusphenopteris sanjuanina (Kurtz) Cesari has been studied in detail. An emended diagnosis including characteristics of the organization of the frond and the related fructification is presented. The distribution of the genus is enlarged and the species is recognized as a characteristic element in Argentinian Carboniferous floras. -Authors
