Sumario: | A distortion-tolerant recognition process has been successfully implemented in an optical joint transform correlator operating with a liquid crystal television display in the input plane and a photorefractive crystal in the Fourier plane. We have generated the reference by retaining the phase information of the Fourier transform of a constrained phase-only minimum Euclidean distance synthetic discriminant function filter. This gave rise to a process that successfully detects the target also for distortions not included in the training set. Experimental and theoretical results are shown. |
