Sumario: | Lanostane-triterpene acids obtained from the culture of the fungus Coriolellus malicola were studied by electrospray mass spectrometry in the negative ion mode using quadrupole time-of-flight and quadrupole ion trap analysers. Despite the differences observed in the mass spectra recorded with these instruments, a set of fragment ions was found to be characteristic of the family, depending on the Δ79(11) or Δ8 skeleton and the particular functional group at C-3.
