Sumario:Fecundity (number of eggs carried by a female) and reproductive output were studied in Petrolisthes granulosus during March 1996 in Iquique, Chile. There was no egg lost during embryonic development, but there was an increment in egg volume of 45.8% during the incubation period, which was due to an important increase in water content. The egg dry weight decreased in 24.3%. The total egg number was related to female size. The reproductive output for all females was nearly 10% but there was a significative decrease at the end of embryonic development.
