Sumario:The evolution of macroscopic magnetic properties of BaFe12O19 synthesized by a new chemical coprecipitation method are presented and discussed. Structural and magnetic properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electronic microscopy and magnetic measurements on fine particles resulting from annealing treatments. High values of coercive field (4.4 kOe) and of the magnetization (70 emug-1) were obtained on well-crystallized BaFe12O19 particles annealed at 800°C. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
