Chemical evolution of galaxies in the high redshift universe

In this work, we present preliminary results on the chemical evolution of galaxies at 3 < z < 7 in cosmological simulations. The simulated mass-metallicity relation (MZR) predicted by the adopted supernova (SN) feedback model is consistent with recent observations. However, our findings sugges...

Sumario:In this work, we present preliminary results on the chemical evolution of galaxies at 3 < z < 7 in cosmological simulations. The simulated mass-metallicity relation (MZR) predicted by the adopted supernova (SN) feedback model is consistent with recent observations. However, our findings suggest that the parameters which regulate the SN feedback efficiency need to be revised in order to reproduce the observed evolution of the MZR towards z ∼ 0. © 2010 American Institute of Physics.
