| Sumario: | Representives of the ammonoid families Anisoceratidae Hyatt, 1900, and Labeceratidea Spath, 1925, are locally common in Albian deposits of the Austral Basin, southern Patagonia, Argentina. Examination of abundant anisoceratid material documents extensive intraspecific variation. The following species have been identified: Rossalites imlayi (Leanza), Labeceras singulare (Leanza), L. crassetuberculatum magnum n. subsp., and Myloceras (Calliscaphites) andinus Leanza. Subgenera of Myloceras, based on the mode of coiling, are used to clarify the systematics of the family Labeceratidae. -Authors |
