Sumario:An alternative density functional for studying adsorption of 4 He onto solid surfaces is suggested, where the helium-helium interaction is screened at small distances by the two-body distribution function g(r) and the gradient-gradient term of the Orsay-Trento proposal is replaced by a contribution written in terms of the gradient of g(r).
