| Sumario: | The ichnogenus Psammichnites Torell is documented in the Hoyada Verde Formation, Carboniferous, Calingasta-Uspallata Basin. Two ichnospecies are described and illustrated, P. implexus and P. plummeri. In previous studies, these structures were erroneously referred to as Subphyllochorda, Helminthoida and Helminthorhaphe. The presence of Psammichnites provides unequivocal ichnologic evidence of marine conditions, as also indicated by the abundant marine body fossils preserved in the succession. © Asociación Paleontológica Argentina. |
