The Reaction of Ammonia with Acylated Disaccharides. II. Acetyl Derivatives of Lactose

The reaction between ammonia and β-octa-O-acetyllactose was studied. As reaction products, N,N′-diacetyllactosylidenediamine and N-acetyl-α-lactosylamine were isolated and characterized via the corresponding acetyl derivatives. © 1963, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
