Ecdysone metabolism in Triatoma infestans (Hemiptera, reduviidae) in vivo

When radiolabelled ecdysone was injected into Triatoma infestans it was converted to 20-hydroxyecdysone and to four other fractions (I, II, IV and VI) separated by thin layer chromatography. The pattern of ecdysone metabolites found 16 days after a blood meal was different from that found at 30 days...

Sumario:When radiolabelled ecdysone was injected into Triatoma infestans it was converted to 20-hydroxyecdysone and to four other fractions (I, II, IV and VI) separated by thin layer chromatography. The pattern of ecdysone metabolites found 16 days after a blood meal was different from that found at 30 days. Peak I was isolated and further separated to give two main fractions. The results obtained from enzymatic hydrolysis of this peak showed it to be a mixture of glucosides, glucuronides and sulphate conjugates. © 1981.
