Sumario:The study poses an analysis of the discursivities (Pêcheux, 1990) around the teacher education of physical education in Uruguay, made in the Upper Institute of Physical Education of the National Commission of Physical Education; only field where developed in the period selected (1948-1959) this career. Between the main problems pose the tensions between the technical-professional and the pedagogical education, and between the first and the academic-university education. It stands out like finding that the curricular changes in this decade presented in the incorporation of the pedagogies, the psychologies and the educational practices, what allowed a slide of an exclusively technical education to a preparation for the exercise of the teaching. The Saxon influence in relation to the ways to understand the teaching that configured a normal discursivity was supported by different emphasis until advanced the decade of the fifty.
