| Sumario: | Due to the impact of the urban heat island on building energy demand, the objective of this study is to generate a simulated Typical Meteorological Year (TMYsim) for the largest Local Climate Zone (LCZ) of Córdoba city, Argentina, compared to the available measured TMY. This work is part of research aimed at developing a methodology for optimizing building design in large cities. First, the LCZs are characterized by considering urban density, average height, anthropogenic heat, and vegetation cover (using the World Urban Database and Access Portal Tools (WUDAPT) method). The TMYsim is determined using the Urban Weather Generator 2.0 software and calibrated for temperatura. The results show that the analyzed LCZ achieved accuracies greater than 70%, and the simulated TMY obtained annual NMBE and CVRMSE values of –0.30% and 27.78%, respectively, meeting ASHRAE standard requirements. |
