| Sumario: | The Colección Paleontológica de la UNNE “Dr. Rafael Herbst”, from Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales y Agrimensura (FaCENA-UNNE), and located at the Centro de Ecología Aplicada del Litoral (CECOAL-CONICET-UNNE) in Corrientes, Argentina, houses specimens of high heritage and scientific value, among these, the Triassic plant impressions/compressions collected in 1967 by Dr. Herbst and Mr. Castro in the Quebrada de la Cortaderita (San Juan, Argentina) stand out. The stratigraphic and paleobotanical investigations carried out by Stipanicic and Bonetti in 1953 and Bonetti in1963, made it possible to define the fossiliferous levels of origin. Later, Artabe, Spalletti and Bodnar proposed the division of the Cortaderita Formation into two lithostratigraphic members: Don Raúl and La Emilia. This contribution presents the preserved taxa as educational reference material and available for future scientific review. The species previously recorded in both members: Dicroidium lancifolium, D. odontopteroides, Zuberia feistmantelii, Z. zuberi, Umkomasia macleanii, Pteruchus barrealensis, Pachydermophyllum papillosum. From Don Raúl Member: Cladophlebis mendozaensis, Dicroidium crassum, D. argenteum, D. stelzneriana, Zuberia papillata, Sphenobaiera schenkii, Saportaea flabellata and S. dichotoma. From La Emilia Member: cf. Dicroidium dubium subsp. switzifolium, Heidiphyllum elongatum, Pseudoctenis ctenophylloides, Pseudoctenis sp. cf. P. multilineatum and Kurtziana cacheutensis. New records are reported from the Don Raúl Member: Equisetites quimdecimdentata, and Stachyopitys anthoides. This collection represents a fundamental part of the paleobotanical history of the Argentine Triassic, constitutes a current scientific legacy with the potential to enrich future research, and consolidates CP-UNNE as a national and international reference repository. |
