Sumario:The experiences of documentation and study of the Nivaĉle language (Mataguayan, Argentine and Paraguayan Chaco) date back to the middle of the last century through the work of the Oblate missionaries in Paraguay who published the first grammatical sketches and the first dictionary on the language. In recent decades, with the rise of language documentation, multimedia resources and collections of annotated sound records have become available in different repositories and digital platforms for consultation and use for scientific, educational and dissemination purposes. The aim of this paper is to offer a brief overview of these experiences of study and documentation of the Nivaĉle language, as well as the different initiatives for linguistic promotion and normalization of the language carried out by the Nivaĉle people in Paraguay that led to the creation of the Nivaĉle People's Language Academy.
