Sumario:In this article, we investigate the practices of spatializing memories and narratives about the recent past related to state terrorism in Argentina and Chile. To do so, we propose focusing on San Carlos de Bariloche (Río Negro) and Valdivia (Región de los Ríos), two locations in the south of these countries. We aim to provide an ethnographic approach to the field, challenging our initial theoretical frameworks to address this theme. Thus, the article seeks to contribute to the decentralization of the study of social memory in the field of the recent past, advocating for the need for a regional perspective in understanding the narratives of the subjects themselves about their experiences related to state violence.
