| Sumario: | This article presents identify and analyze the competencies and capacities of archival education programs in Colombia. The methodological proposal, based on documentary research, contemplates five stages: compilation, identification, collection, systematization and analysis. Fourteen archival education programs in Colombia were included in the study; two were discarded because they did not meet the previously defined selection criteria. The competences of the programs are in line with the social function of archives, access to information, records management, transparency, accountability, information governance, social memory, business intelligence, digital information management, records appraisal, data management, research and teaching. Finally, it is concluded that archival education in Colombia has experienced significant growth in recent years, reflecting a disciplinary evolution supported by the commitment of universities to offer academic programs in archival education with a strong social relevance.
