Sumario:Circulation through transport networks is essential for the reproduction, accumulation and appreciation of capital. For this reason, the planning, modernization and expansion of infrastructures are the target of investment by national states and the private sector. In the case of peripheral and semi-peripheral countries, as in the case of Brazil, the conformation of the circulation network must be read in accordance with the flexible logic of accumulation and with the interests of hegemonic agents. These aspects imply a selectivity that (un) integrates certain spaces in the network. The purpose of this article is to discuss the impacts of the modernization of the Porto Murtinho Waterway Terminal on the circulation network of Mato Grosso do Sul, considering the new possibilities for the flow of soy produced in the state.
