The present article is a first step in the incorporation of time into the local studies about mobility, through a conceptual and methodological approach for the travel time measurement in public transport. To do this, the travel time was measured in four bus lines with the direction: periphery-center. It is possible to evidence the territorial disequilibrium in term of spatial distance and the time measured for each one of the itineraries. El componente temporal del transporte público comprende por un lado, la suma de los tiempos de acceso, de espera y de viaje; y por otro, el valor que cada persona otorga al mismo (value of time-VOT). La planificación orientada a un transporte público eficaz, debe considerar necesariamente este componente por estar directamente vinculado con las decisiones cotidianas de movilidad, tales como la elección del modo de transporte, destino, frecuencia del viaje e incluso, distancias a recorrer. El presente artículo constituye un primer paso en el reconocimiento del tiempo en estudios locales de movilidad, a través del aporte conceptual y metodológico para la medición del tiempo de viaje en transporte púbico. Para ello, se cronometró el tiempo de viaje de 4 líneas urbanas de ómnibus en sentido periferia-centro.
