In particular, the millenarian perspectives that circulated among the Buenos Aires population as a result of some critical situations in the years 1871 and 1872, which some thought were signs of the Apocalypse. Secondly, a reflection is made on the reasons for the great immediate success of José Hernández’s poem, proposing others besides its crucial character as a protest poem. |
