| Sumario: | The transition to higher education is a complex process involving multiple institutional, academic, and sociocultural factors. This study analyzes the experiences of university admission and the risk of disaffiliation in the Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition at the University of Concepción del Uruguay – Santa Fe Regional Center (UCU), based on data collected between 2022 and 2024. Using a mixed–methods approach that combines student surveys and ethnographic observations, the study identifies factors influencing academic continuity and the obstacles students face. The findings reveal that the risk of disaffiliation is associated with academic workload, lack of time, financial difficulties, and institutional organization, as well as subjective aspects related to motivation and social integration. Additionally, the role of organizational communication in institutional integration processes is highlighted. Based on the results, a risk index is proposed to guide institutional policies aimed at improving student retention at UCU. |
