| Sumario: | This paper seeks to develop a comprehensive analysis of a period of high political and social intensity in Argentina’s recent history, based on an empirical reconstruction of the protests that shaped in the city of La Plata between 1968 and 1974. Conceptualized as a “cycle of protest” with four phases—emergence, intensification, institutionalization, and closure—the study explores two main dimensions. First, it examines contentious episodes, identifying tactical repertoires (contained or transgressive) and types of demands, ranging from political to university-related, union, or academic. Second, it analyzes the actors and their organizations, focusing on the student movement and faculty activism. |
