Sumario:This article is a case study of the concert prior to the final of the 2019 Copa Sudamericana de Fútbol 2019, played on November 9 in Asunción, Paraguay. The final was played by Independiente del Valle (Ecuador) and Colón de Santa Fe (Argentina). Luis Fonsi and two groups representing each club participated in the show that preceded it. In the case of Colón, Los Palmeras, well–known fans of the club and representatives of cumbia santafesina, were invited. The group played excerpts of their hit Bombón asesino and the partisansong Soy Sabalero. As the stadium was filled with 40 thousand Colón fans, the brief participation of Los Palmeras reached an unusual emotional intensity. Soccer, music and television form a type of event capable of condensing multiple layers of representations, that we propose to analyse based on the theory of mediation (Hennion, 2000).
