Sumario:This article analyses and compares the gender composition of the competing lists for municipal legislative positions in the elections helded in 2015 and 2019 and their respective electoral results in the 19 municipalities of the Province of Tucumán. The study concludes that the combination of couplings with a 30% female participation quota, in closed and blocked lists, with a proportional distribution of seats without legal threshold, in an electoral context characterized by its high electoral offer (product of couplings), produces a breakdown of party and intraparty competitiveness, which is detrimental to women´ possibilities to occupy seats. In addition, there is a tendency of all political parties to position the female candidates from the third place on the list and to limit the female headings.
