A disease, a pathogen, together with an immune intervention that turned out to be unsuccessful. The case of Robert Koch's studies

The article reviews the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the tuberculosis bacillus by Robert Koch, his underlying motivations, and the subsequent preparation of the tuberculin extract, which was envisaged as a therapeutic possibility that was not such.
