Sumario:On January 14, 2013, an unusual storm fell over Comodoro Rivadavia city, severally damaging the urban area. However, according to the National Weather Service information, the rain intensity was only 9 mm. Then, it is inferred that the storm was very concentrated, or it was located in the upper basin. This fact motivated further studies of other extraordinary events and the methodology of recording such events; for instance, in April of 2011, there was a huge event never measured before in the region, which is presented in this study. It should be noted that the rainfall analysis aims to interpret these phenomena and to provide support for studies and engineering projects by means of reliable values of rainfall assigned to specific frequency which are required for computing design discharges.
