Sumario:The fought against the tuberculosis make a new development of sanitary institutions, mobilized resources and competitiveness that circumstances brought about the emerge of School of Social Hygiene Visitors in La Plata around 1938. In this process were involved many medical hygienists, political parties, community organizations and sanitary institutions included the visitorswere at the beginning of the school. In this paper we tried to raise the thought of social work like a process placed historically in the ‘30s of XXº century, when the State reconfigures the ideological state apparatus since the industrialization for import substitution, the class struggles in the decade, and the new requisite from different institutions in the presence of the so called “social diseases”.
