Sumario:In November 10th, 2019, Evo Morales, Bolivian president for the last 14 years, resigned to power after a long period of protests launched after the general elections (October 20th), the target of many fraud accusations. Bolivia was left in a difficult situation of power vacuum, which was filled by a constitutional succession, described by the press as a coup against democracy. It was indeed a coup? Using theory and historical analysis, this article tries to understand what happened in Bolivia and if it is accurate to fear about Bolivian democracy’s existence.
