| Sumario: | The current translation offers a Spanish version of Hermann Heller’s “Folk High School and Political Party School”. In the text, originally published in 1919, Heller distinguishes the institutional project of the former from that of the latter. While Folk High Schools are responsible for the civic and political education of their students, they should set aside programmatic commitments to political parties or ideologies. The possibility of such an education autonomizes the Folk High School from the Political Party Schools and establishes it as a fundamental institution of modern democratic life. |
