Sumario:This article analyzes the results of a survey carried out in the city of Córdoba during May 2021, when sanitary restrictions on shows and cultural activities that attract the public were still in force. The research tests a series of circulating hypotheses that, faced with the limitation and suspension of cultural activity during the pandemic, presumed:: 1) the “transfer” to virtuality; 2) the incorporation or increase in the frequency of traditional cultural consumption, such as increased reading, at home; 3) the possibility of accessing cultural activities from distant places available online. The results show a weak empirical basis of the optimistic statements regarding the expansion of new cultural activities and, instead, the increase of already installed practices. The survey took a representative sample of the city, using a PPS sampling and with a 95% confidence interval. 400 forms were collected in the field with information referring to households of the urban area of the city.
