description The work that we present deals promptly with three facts that, in our opinion, were decisive for the development of the Salvadoran civil war. The failures of democratization in the electoral process, its war with Honduras and the failed attempts at Agrarian Reform paradoxically created awareness in the Salvadoran people that their whole being was engaged in these problems and that it was up to the people themselves to continue or break a struggle of submission that had affected their country's development possibility for years. Aware that the road to freedom was not easy, Salvadorans undertook the difficult challenge of facing established power and foreign policies that used their country with interests and ends that had nothing to do with the needs of the people. Twelve years of intense, deep and painful struggle that its causes can find in the reflections of Ignacio Ellacuría. We will analyze here your texts on the Salvadoran civil war.
