The article investigates the subjects’ experiences that motivated them to join an active guerilla movement in a province whose hegemonic historiography has been described as traditionally calm and depoliticized. The following discussion attempts to articulate these women’s actions and their meanings from a popular perspective from bellow and using the categories of gender and class to frame the discussion..
