Sumario:The lagoon complex of Guanacache, Divisadero and Bebedero (CGDB) is an important inter-jurisdictional RAMSAR site, the first of its kind in Argentina, with a great cultural and ecological wealth. Its importance dates back to the end of the 16th century, when the place was an economically productive site. However, the appearance and development of the oases and productive areas of the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan, reduced the volume of water of the main tributaries of said lagoon complex poured into that system, causing a marked retraction of the CGDB. Indeed, the objective of the present study is to reconstruct the space-time fluctuation that has taken place in the CGDB during the period 1987-2018. For this purpose, the use of remote sensing tools and geographic information systems is proposed. Among the main results, an 80% loss of this cover stands out between 1987 and 2018, at a rate of -5.9 km2 / year.
