The objective of this research is to establish the effects produced by human activities on the phytolithic composition within a circular structure located at the Yasyamayo site (Yocavil valley, Tucumán, Argentina) during the Late Period (1000-1480 AD). To achieve this, the phytolithic assemblage of this structure was analyzed and compared with those from a stratigraphic sequence without anthropic activity and other from an agricultural terrace. The results showed some differences between the compared sets and, together with available stratigraphic and geochemical data, support the hypothesis of the residential use of the circular structure, perhaps as an agricultural outpost, and reaffirmed the agricultural function of the cultivation terrace. Additionally, paleoenvironmental conditions reinforced for a drier pre-occupational stage than the current conditions were reaffirmed, coinciding with the Medieval Climatic Anomaly. The presence of an arid and semi-arid paleoenvironment with some humid fluctuations was observed for the post-occupational stage, coinciding with the Little Ice Age (1300-1850 AD). |

El objetivo de la presente investigación es establecer que efectos produjeron las actividades humanas en la composición fitolítica dentro de una estructura circular ubicada en el sitio Yasyamayo (valle de Yocavil, Tucumán, Argentina) durante el período Tardío (1000-1480 DC). Para ello se analizó la asociación fitolítica de dicha estructura, y se comparó con las de una secuencia estratigráfica sin actividad antrópica y otra de una terraza agraria. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron algunas diferencias entre las asociaciones, de manera conjunta con datos estratigráficos y geoquímicos disponibles. Todo esto apoyó la hipótesis del uso residencial de la estructura circular, quizás como un puesto agrícola, y se reafirmó la función agraria de la terraza de cultivo. Adicionalmente fue reforzada la presencia inferida de condiciones paleoambientales más áridas que la actual para una etapa pre-ocupacional, coincidente con la Anomalía Climática Medieval. La presencia de una etapa post-ocupacional caracterizada por un paleoambiente árido y semiárido con alguna fluctuación húmeda es coincidente con la Pequeña Edad del Hielo (1300-1850 AD). O objetivo desta pesquisa é estabelecer os efeitos das atividades humanas na composição fitolítica de uma estrutura circular localizada no sítio Yasyamayo (Vale Yocavil, Tucumán, Argentina) durante o período tardio (1000-1480 d.C.). Para isso, a associação fitolítica dessa estrutura foi analisada e comparada com as de uma sequência estratigráfica sem atividade antropogênica e outra de um terraço agrícola. Os resultados obtidos mostraram algumas diferenças entre as associações, juntamente com os dados estratigráficos e geoquímicos disponíveis. Tudo isso apoiou a hipótese do uso residencial da estrutura circular, talvez como um posto avançado agrícola, e a função agrícola do terraço de cultivo foi reafirmada. Além disso, a presença inferida de condições paleoambientais mais áridas do que as atuais para um estágio pré-ocupacional, coincidindo com a Anomalia Climática Medieval, foi reforçada. A presença de um estágio pós-ocupacional caracterizado por um paleoambiente árido e semiárido com alguma flutuação úmida coincide com a Pequena Idade do Gelo (1300-1850 d.C.).
