Sumario:This article presents the current status of the digitization of archaeological collections from the División Arqueología of the Museo de La Plata, resulting in the creation of a digital repository. Over the past two years, we have dedicated ourselves intensely to three main tasks: 1) Standardizing databases using standards and thesauri comparable to those utilized by other scientific-academic institutions in Argentina and abroad; 2) Systematically recording the collections through photography, following explicit procedures and uniform parameters for digitizing objects and documents, as well as for storing the generated files and 3) Creating Culturalis, an open-access digital repository, to make information publicly accessible, reduce the handling of collections, and simplify remote access for consultation. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance the management, research, teaching, conservation, and dissemination of Museo de La Plata's heritage, ultimately contributing to the public circulation of knowledge.
