| Sumario: | The goal of this study is to study the influence of semantic and morphophonological information in agreement computation during sentence production in Spanish. We designed an experiment using the error-elicitation paradigm in an oral sentence-completion task. Subject type (distributive vs. non-distributive), number of local noun (singular vs. plural) and local noun type according to the morphophonological realization (marked vs. invariant/unmarked) were manipulated. The results confirm the influence of semantic and morphological factors in the Spanish and, taken together with evidence from other languages, permit to assess the divergent hypotheses relating to the flow of information and the degree of autonomy of syntactic information in sentence production. In addition, they provide evidence regarding the role of the richness of inflectional morphology in the computation of subject-verb agreement. |
