This article proposesthat this feudist lawyer was a transitionalfigure, in which both the “enlightened” andthe “socialist” aspects were present. The caseof Louis Auguste Blanqui illustrates howselective the recoveries of the babouvistexperience could be and the complexities ofhis legacy.
