| Sumario: | The Córdoba films Ferroviarios (Rocha, 2011) and Curapaligüe, memorias del desierto (Schmucler, 2010) explore, through various audiovisual resources, different ways of approaching the subjects memories and practices that had been part of a specific geography. By showing the width of physical boundaries we observe how frontiers arise, in this case laid out by the heterogeneous conditions and dynamics that belong to the groups that inhabit those spaces. Every and each geography preserve memories which may vanish with the passing of time and consequent forgetfulness. The present work inquires into the spaces latent memory, as an identity concept made up not only by its geographical boundaries, but also by the sum of practices and events that take place in order to build up subjects collective memories. |
