| Sumario: | This paper problematizes the social appropriation of the recent urban intervention of Plaza España in Córdoba, Argentina. Recovering a perspective of complexity of public space, it is proposed to explore the symbolic dimensions that operate in its appropriation, with special emphasis on digital technologies of mass consumption and content production, such as the Instagram platform. Dimensions of urban imaginaries, identity experiences and cultural consumption in the public space are tensioned from the urban mediatization. The methodology used is qualitative, employing the techniques of participant observation and digital observation. The research results show how Plaza España is the scenario of consumption and digital contents in the social network Instagram, in whose interaction of cultural consumption constitutes the epicenter of the social appropriation of the urban public space of Nueva Córdoba. |
