Symptomatological and serological behavior of Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus (MDMV) isolates from different geographical regions

The results obtained have shown that the four isolates presented symptomatological differences in some sorghum cultivars inoculated. In serological tests, all the isolates reacted positively against the anti-MDMV-A (A strain of MDMV), except the Chilean isolate, which reacted with this and also with MDMV-E (E strain of MDMV). The A strain of MDMV is apparently the one that predominates in the corn crops in Argentina, varying its symptomatologic response according to the area where it occurs and the maize genotype used.
