| Sumario: | We deal, in this paper, with the treatment of lexical imports, with restriction to their writing –and to the lexical area of gastronomy–, in the dialectal zone of Buenos Aires Spanish, in Argentina. We start from the explicit linguistic policy of the Royal Spanish Academy about what it calls “treatment of foreignisms” to put in relation to it the uses, and the underlying valuations, which we have registered in the city of Bahía Blanca. We find a tendency to conserve the written configurations of the donor languages, whose clearest emergence is the repeated operation of an “over-foreignizer” hypercorrection, which we interpret as an implicit linguistic policy that does not fit the mentioned guidelines. |
