Sumario:The growing deterioration of the environment as a result of the globalized extractivist policy, has led to an environmental crisis. It is a crisis of knowledge and of ways to understand, explain and manage the environment. This crisis is a crisis of the hegemonic epistemologies, imposed by cartesian heritage. Considering this phenomenon, we need to generate new logics which could allow us to create new perspectives and readings, without resigning the disciplinary knowledge, but making it possible to integrate new readings and theoretical frameworks instead. In this context, University can train future generations of professionals, encouraging the integration of environmental knowledge into the curriculum, rescuing their historical traditions and articulating academic background with popular knowledge and experiences. University outreach is the substrate which could guarantee a situated practice, allowing the integration of academic functions, methodologies and knowledge as a path leading to a socially sustainable environment.
