Sumario:This paper pursues to identify the themes and approaches of interest in the Physics textbook according to the Brazilian High School teachers. For this, a survey was applied to 359 of the five regions of the country. Data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics, with hypothesis tests used to rank the interests and to compare the preferences of the different strata. Technological products, STS approach and conceptual activities are among the highlights of teachers' preference. Biographies and a traditional and mathematical approach are among the less valued elements. Among the subgroups, one highlight is that the traditional approach finds greater interest among teachers without a license degree, teacher that use handouts instead of textbooks and teachers who adopt materials from authors who are not researchers in the area of Teaching or Education.
