Sumario:In this article, we propose to problematize the institutional responses to the women mother in the face of child and adolescent sexual abuse, considering that professional practices are traversed by a patriarchal gaze that makes it difficult to incorporate a gender perspective. To do this we start from conceptualizing child and adolescent sexual abuse, to then analyze the social representations around the woman identified as mother and caregiver. Then, we characterize the mothers of children who suffer abuse, as co-victims, and the institutional responses that, in many cases, revictimize them. Finally, the intervention processes of Social Work are analyzed and proposals are made to include the gender perspective and promote a care policy.
