Sumario:This article analyzes the processes of institutionalization of the discourses and practices deployed around gender, from the experience of working in an NGO in a city in the Caribbean region of Colombia, which works in defense of women's rights. The article shows the complexities present in the tensions and debates between the different social actors that participate in those processes. Taking as a starting point various communication contents of the institution and personal records of the experience, this paper analyzes the meaning that the NGO gives to gender from its discursive presentation and what perspective is printed to the concrete practices of approach in the care of women. With this, it intends to contribute to the reflection about the implications of the processes of institutionalization of gender policies in the future of the feminist and women's movement, in interaction with the State and the market, in a particular socio-political scenario, but not isolated from the general Latin American context.
