Sumario:In the current state of hypermediatization in which we live, the ideas that circulate socially around the truth gain strength in the field of digital discourses. This work exposes theoretical notions of this social process, especially based on the COVID-19 pandemic, and then establishes some of the ways in which technological devices participate in the construction of the effects of truthfulness and, therefore, in the production of social meaning. Through the analysis of a discussion that arises in social networks about the power of images to produce realities, we propose a key to reading the questions about the scope of artificial intelligence as a producer of events, opening the way to new ways of thinking about reality in which society's value systems are established.
