description In March 2020, the situation of the universities faced a reorganization in accordance with the new times we are experiencing in Argentina because of the pandemic. Thus, previsions for the academic year had to be modified considering the circumstances. In the case of National Universities, although not exclusively in them, a care protocol is followed. This protocol has fundamentally replaced, in a very short time, the intersubjective space that was fostered in the classroom by one that uses virtual communications. In this text, we will address some terms that, as if they were icebergs (what distance education is, what role web platforms play, which languages we use), will allow us to reflect on the present scenarios and, especially, to focus on the possible changes that can be made in articulation with the future that we are shaping today.
