Sumario: | This article presents an analysis on the valuations of the visiting public of the exhibition “ADN Olavarría. Mining Roots”, linked to local mining history and constituting part of its cultural heritage. This proposal was made during 2019 in the city of Olavarría, Buenos Aires province, within the framework of the centenary celebrations of the first portland cement dispatch in Argentina. A survey was carried out from semi-structured surveys of more than 100 visitors. The main results demonstrate a general ignorance of the public on the origins of local mining activity and a recognition of other aspects of Olavarian identity as constitutive of its ADN. This study enabled a discussion based on four main axes: the interpretation of heritage from the museum, the assessment of the contribution of researchers and specialists, the vertical activation of a heritage repertoire, and the role of researchers as activators of processes of putting into value of local cultural heritage. |
